PS Network, PS Vita, PS Now, & PS TV - E3 2014 (Sony)



During the Sony E3 Conference, a segment by Shawn Layden – President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America provided us an update all things PlayStation that wasn't games.

He talked about the ongoing success of PlayStation Network and ShareFactory. He announced that they are now bringing YouTube to the PlayStation Network later this year which will allow quicker uploads to your gaming channel. Along by giving details on Playroom, a free application that would allow users to better personalize the content they make.

Also showcasing more Free to Play games coming later this year through a trailer which you can view here

PlayStation now was also announced will be available July 31 as an open beta in us and Canada on PlayStation 4 and will soon be available for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Along with later this year, it will add PlayStation Now to Sony smart Televisions.

Layden also announced PLAYSTATION TV. A device that when paired with PlayStation 4, it will allow users to play their PlayStation 4 via remote play on a second television in their home. It will give access to video and music streaming services and ability to play hundreds of PlayStation titles through PlayStation now as well as most Vita titles, PlayStation 1 and PlayStation Portable classics.

It will arrive in the US and Canada this year for $99.
However there will also be a bundle for $139 that will include a

  • Dual Shock 3 controller
  • 8 Gb Memory Card
  • HDMI Cable
  • Digital voucher for The Lego Movie Video Game
